Providing Osteopathic Care for the whole family...

Notice to Patients attending Clinic

Osteopathy is classified as primary healthcare and as such your practitioner is considered an essential worker.

Under that remit, provisions have been put in place to continue to serve the needs of patients in a safe environment, and to minimise spread of the covid-19 virus.

New procedures have been implemented to help keep patients and staff safe.

Please read the following:

Booking your appointment

Facilities have now been made available to book appointments online. As part of this process you will be asked to pay for your appointment by debit/credit card, using our secure payment process. This is to reduce the risk of cross contamination by handling cash or the card payment terminal.

Before your appointment

You will receive an appointment confirmation followed by an appointment reminder email with which you will be sent a Pre-appointment Covid-19 screening questionnaire, which you are kindly asked to complete and submit before attending for your appointment. Patients will not be seen without having submitted the completed form. If you are currently experiencing and covid-19 symptoms then you should not attend your appointment. In this event, we would appreciate as much notice as possible of your cancellation.

Attending your appointment

Upon arrival, please park in rear car park of Epos House, in view of the front door of The Wellness Suite. Please stay in your car until you are notified.

NB: You do not need to call the office to inform us of your arrival.

You will be called in at the appropriate time.

Please note: There is no facility to wait in the reception.

Hand sanitiser will be provided for your use upon entering the suite and which we'd kindly appreciate if you'd use it.

Whilst every effort is made to remain punctual, please accept that with new provisions in place, sometimes appointments can over-run slightly.

What to wear

A policy of minimising undressing has been introduced:

  • The practice of covering a patient with a towel whilst on the couch is to be discontinued for the time-being, so you would be advised to wear clothing that is loose and stretchy such as leggings or tracksuit and a T- shirt.
  • You must empty pockets and a tray will be provided for you to put your valuables such as keys and wallet etc.
  • You must wear a face mask (unless exempt for medical reasons).
  • There will be no waiting permitted in the reception at Epos House.

Who may attend

Please note that only one person will be allowed in the treatment room at any one time. If you require to have someone to come along as a chaperone then they must sit in the corridor with the door slightly ajar.

  • Appointments for babies and children under the age of 5 years old have been suspended temporarily.
  • Juniors and young adults attending for an appointment may be accompanied by one responsible adult only, otherwise children will not be allowed in the building.

About your treatment

You may notice that your treatment methodology has changed and been adapted to comply with guidelines.

  • No intra-oral techniques will be carried out until further notice.
  • Massage will be eliminated or reduced to a minimum, employing other soft tissue mobilising and stretching techniques instead.

Hygiene provisions we have put in place

  • Plastic couch cover and pillow case have been introduced
  • Cleaning of all surfaces between patients including, but not limited to; door handles, desk surface, couch and pillows, card payment machine, any equipment used as part of your treatment.
  • Hand sanitiser has been made available upon entry and exit of the suite.
  • Your practitioner will be wearing appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • The toilets have a 'one in and one out' policy.

Disclaimer

Whilst provisions have been implemented to minimise spread of the virus, we urge you to make your own judgement as to your own 'at risk' status, as to whether you feel you should attend your appointment or not.

Online Consultation

In such cases where patients feel that they may prefer not to attend a 'face to face' appointment, facilities are in place to provide an online consultation. To find out more, please click here.

Your Co-operation is Appreciated

Whilst we feel we have taken every possible step in taking the necessary precautions, please bear with us while we get into the new way of working. If you feel that there is something that has not been addressed, then we welcome your feedback.

We continue to monitor the situation, and should it be deemed necessary to cancel or postpone your appointment, then we will endeavour to provide as much notice of cancellation as possible.

Similarly, if for any reason, you are unable to attend your appointment, it would be appreciated if you could give as much notice as possible.
